Asthma First Aid for Workplaces

About 10% of the Australian population live with asthma. In any workplace, you are very likely to encounter people with asthma, whether it is a work colleague or a client. This course will provide staff with up-to-date information on asthma and its management within the workplace. Most importantly, staff will be trained in the national protocol for the first aid treatment of an asthma attack.

Attention First Aiders

Each Australian state and territory has their own requirements regarding the purchase and administration of blue reliever for use in Asthma First Aid.

If you are undertaking this training to purchase and administer blue reliever for your workplace, it is your responsibility to ensure it is suitable for your state or territory's requirements by either checking with the local governing body or by contacting your local Asthma Foundation on 1800 ASTHMA (1800 278 462) for up-to-date information.

Instructions for Use

Users will be required to create a Username and Password prior to entering the training package. More detailed instructions for this process are provided on the Login page.

The training package is comprised of two learning modules:

  1. About Asthma
  2. Asthma First Aid

Each module will take approximately 25 minutes to complete. Quiz questions and activities are incorporated within each module to check your understanding of the information presented.

The Introduction and both learning modules must be completed for you to be issued with a Record of Completion.

If you are unable to complete the entire package at once, you can log out and resume where you left off when you log back in to the package.

Audio   /  Closed captions  

Voiceover and audio script is available for each slide. To listen to the voiceover, ensure that speakers or headphones are connected to your computer.
